POP accepts participants who have NDIS funding and other streams of funding and in order to access the program, the person needs to meet the criteria which is ‘parents and caregivers with cognitive and neurological conditions’.
Do you work for DFFH?
No, we are an independent company, but receive referrals from a range of sources, one being child protection. We work in partnership with services that are currently involved with the family (and for some families this may include child protection) to work towards the specified parenting goals.
What is the difference between an outreach worker and a support worker?
A support worker is a paid professional to assist you with your day-to-day tasks such as shopping, household chores, assisting with accessing the community, with work or study, personal care or attending appointments.
The support worker works with you as an individual and the support is based on your needs. Outreach workers are also paid professionals, they work with a purpose on goals to support the individual and family to develop the skills to achieve their goals. Our outreach workers work with parents/caregivers to improve their parenting skills.
We assist to identify your parenting goals and work with you, your family and therapy team to develop the skills to achieve these goals.
